The Idea Behind Recovery Lager

We founded Mineral Brewing with a simple belief: non-alcoholic beer should do more than remove alcohol — it should give something back.

Recovery Lager is brewed for runners, cyclists, and active people who want refreshment and function in one.

Here comes the science part…

What the Lab Shows (Eurofins, 2024)

Independent testing confirmed measurable levels of the key nutrients athletes need:

  • Electrolytes:

    • Potassium: 370 mg/kg (~122 mg per can) → critical for hydration, muscle contractions, nerve signaling

    • Magnesium: 65 mg/kg (~21 mg per can) → supports ATP (energy) production, reduces cramp risk

    • Phosphorus: 140 mg/kg (~46 mg per can, as phosphate ~420 mg/kg) → essential for bone health and cellular energy transfer

  • Polyphenols:
Recovery Lager contains a broad antioxidant profile, including:

    • Gallic acid equivalents: 372 mg/kg

    • EGCG equivalents: 539 mg/kg
These compounds help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation after endurance exercise — the very stresses that slow recovery.

  • Carbohydrates:
With 4.7 g per 100 ml, a single 330 ml can delivers ~15 g carbs, enough to start refuelling glycogen within the critical first 30–60 minutes after training.

  • Vitamins & trace elements:
While B12 is below detection levels, malt and yeast naturally provide B2, B6, folate, supporting energy metabolism and red blood cell formation. Selenium, zinc, and iron were not significant in this test.

Why It Matters

Alcohol after exercise slows glycogen resynthesis, protein repair, and dehydrates you. Recovery Lager flips the script:

  • Keeps the ritual of a cold beer

  • Provides hydration and functional nutrients

  • Supports faster bounce-back so you’re ready for the next session

More Than Just a Drink

Recovery is not only about molecules. It’s about ritual, community, and celebration. With Recovery Lager, you get the satisfaction of a proper beer — crisp, refreshing, rewarding — but aligned with your recovery, not against it.
